My dp chip came with real good instructions. Loosen the bolt, i believe 10 mm, holding the wire harness into the computer from inside the engine compartment and disconnect the wire harness. Inside the cab there are two bolt, 7 or 8 mm i believe, securing the plastic housing holding the computer. Once those two bolts are taking out the computer will pull outof the truck. open the metal casing, i believe 4.5 mm, and take the board out. clean the silicone off of the metal tab where the chip plugs in with a scotch brite pad, one comes with the chip. put the board back in the case, plug the chip in. put the plastic housing back in the truck and screw the bolt with the wire harness back in from the engine compartment. run your wire and plug the controler in. One thing jody says to make sure is that the keys are out of the ignition when doing this and to clean the contacts on the computer real good. Good luck and if you call jody he will answer any questions you have.

I followed the instructions with pictures (pictures always good) and didn't have a problem. I was very pleased.

I know exactly how you feel and searched out many an install guide. I found this one to be helpful. BTW, I highly recommend just disconnecting those batteries just to play it safe. Just watch the static electricity and don't sweat it. Be deliberate but take your time. Enjoy.

And make sure you take your time and get all of the coating off of the ECM port before putting the chip in. I made the mistake of having to install it twice because I didn't clean the connection good enough.

Yeah, that copper silver baloney talk will have you second guessing whether you have removed enogh. Mine were no longer copper colored and more of a silver when I was done. Too much? It works fine. Cleaned the contacts with Isoprop Alc and napkin before reinstall. No probs.

Mine too! The second time around I scrubbed the crap out of the thing and it was pretty shiny when I was done!
