what i meant was, you cant remove any cats to gain more power. you already have as much power as i do with the rear cats removed, the system itself will be the same to make. Ill have to see if i can get some pics of the system, ill have to drive the truck on ramps, cant get underneath it as low as it is now..

Ok, that clears that up. How do I know which mufflers have that true-x in them? Which muffler would you recommend for someone who wants a fairly loud exhaust? On my Bronco 351W I have 40 series Flormaster 3" SI/DO to 2.5", Bassani headers, and no cats. I like that sound, and want it at least almost as loud, but I was leaning towards a Magnaflow muffler. A little quieter would be fine, but I want to have at least a nice growl when idling.

Most of the DIDO mufflers have the tru-x. Magnaflow is pretty vague on their site about which ones do and dont, so your best bet is to call and ask.

Chambered mufflers dont seem to perform well on these trucks, so i would stick to straight through ones, like magnaflow, gibson, and borla. Sadly though, these trucks dont get very loud, so keep that in mind when planning out your system

In that case, what would be the loudest Magnaflow muffler with that Tru-X?

BTW Turnip311, loose the Hypertech and get an edge. You'll be in for a big surprise. I had the Hypertech on my 05 and wasn't happy with it at all. I got an Edge and it's like the truck is now awake. Even with the Hypertech the truck felt sluggish. Not any more, a whole lot of throttle response at the lower rpms and through out the rpm range. With Edge you can change the tunes fast and the onboard gauges make it that much better. You can monitor a lot of points on your truck. I still have my Hyperteck and it's in the classifieds for sale. It's been their a little while now. I thinks it's going to be put on ebay and I'll have to take a loss on this thing because nobody is wanting it.
Ok looks like I'll be getting an edge. Do you use the in car mount for it?

Well back on ebay to sell my hypertech stuff.

keep in mind that even the EDGE is a canned tuner in a fancier package. If you plan on doing more mods like an intake and other things, you may want to consider a custom tuned Xcal 2, they can adapt to any mods you make and can access many more points of the PCM than the edge can. Just something to keep in mind

Well I already have an intake and I want to do the DIDO muffler with a true X core on the back. I just have to price it out. Do you have a link for the tuned Xcal 2 and specs?

For the tips, i would get some stainless magnaflow ones. Browse around on magnaflows site and get me some part numbers, muffler and tips, and ill quote you up a price.

You can find the Xcal 2 here:

Great Product... Did the firm ware update come out for the added adjustments? You site says August. What is the normal size people look for in tips? I head 18 inch is standard but, I don't believe them.

I was thinking 35111 for tips
and 12468 for a muffler. Then I'd take it to my local muffler shop to get it installed.

I don't think I need the Tru X core hardware but that's the part number anyway...
I'll also need part # 10791 I think for the TruX core.

Yes all the updates are out for the Xcal 2, i apologize for not updating the site.

the 12468 muffler already has a Tru-x core, so you wont need any other parts, other than the tips. The tips are up to you, i prefer a rolled edge, and the length all depends on where you exit and how much room you have for tips.

For the tips you have, your price is $35 each, and the 12468 muffler for $99. Prices include shipping.

What would be the limit an Edge could handle? I would probably just do exhaust from the headers back and maybe and intake. I had pretty much decided on the Edge, but I guess I will need more research if it can't handle any mods.

Well, most of the aftermarket intakes for the 04 up F150 run lean, maybe not enough to trip the CEL, but enough that a corrective tune would make more reliable power out of it. The EDGE is not capable of accessing the parts of the PCM that could adjust for that, at least not right now. Some intakes, like the JLT short ram, NEED a tune to operate correctly, because they just flow too much air for the stock calibration.

Unfortunately there arent any other products on the market yet that have the same features of the EDGE, so its a toss up. Some rich people use both our X2 and a EDGE, they use our tuning and the EDGE for the extra features, so your choice is either to sit tight or get what you think is best. As far as tuning is concerned SCT pretty much has it nailed down, and can access all the areas of the PCM. Some people dont need that, some people do.
