Dead Battery

Good day,

I have 2004 F150 S-Crew Lariat and have been having some electrcial issues.

In the spring I drove my truck to a friends house and shut it off, connected a trailer and went to start it about 10 minutes later and the battery was dead. I had to put it on the charger for a minute or so to get it to fire up and all was good.

Then on the weekend, the truck sat all night and failed to start in the morning and it had to be boosted. Now, after sitting at home for a few days the truck wouldn't start again.

I'm thinking my battery is toast, but after sitting all day when I came home from work the fuel pump (at least it sounds like it's the fuel pump) was running.

Has anyone had this happen to them?

It's odd that the battery would be killed so fast after driving the the truck for 10 minutes and then be dead after sitting another 10 minutes when I put on the trailer, I attributed that to a possible short from plugging in the trailer lights in snowy conditions???

1st step is to get the bat charged up. Then leave it set for as long as you can with the battery disconnected. If it consistently starts, something is draining the battery. If you can hear the fp or whatever all the time, then you have a different route for trouble shooting.
