My Air cond is not working on my 91 Ranger. No 12 V. Can't find the WOT relay that seems to be the problem through wiring checks. Any body save me time by telling me where it is?
My ranger's an 89, but it's relays were underneath the PDB. I had to remove the box
from the fender to allow access to the fuel pump, eec, and wot relays. Maybe check
there, if you haven't found it yet. Good luck.
HIJACK:
Does the WOT relay cut off the A/C compressor? My compressor says on at WOT. If it's supposted to, I guess I need to check to see that my throttle is opening all the way.
Yes the WOT is supposed to cut off the AC compressor, the thinking is at WOT your looking for the most power you can get to pass or climb a hill etc so you don't need the draw on the engine, and secondly your not going to stay at WOT for a extended period of time so the AC bieng cut off won't be that long.

Your TPS could be bad also. The TPS is what tells the PCM that you are at WOT. The WOT relay uses the the NC (normally closed) contacts, so when the relay is "picked" the contacts open. So, the WOT can also cause your problem if the relay coil is open.

Another reason is to protect the A/C compressor itself, as it's not really designed to spin over 6K for long periods or time. In fact, a lot of higher-revving applications need special A/C compressors to handle the higher rpms.
