Ok, so the same concept can't be applied to the radio? I would figure it could as the radio dims when you turn on your parking lights so there has to be some sort of dimming circuit that could be switched on or off to get the desired effect...

for the radio to stay bright all the time you would have to find the switched power lead and the dimmer lead. cut the dimmer lead and splice the radio side into the switched power lead.
