Hi all just bought a 06 F250. Will a cold air intake increase my milage and what kind of improvements have you seen. Which one is the best band for the buck. Just local driving no towing.
Thanks TC98

See the post I just made in the what chip thread about the stock filter box. IMHKO you really won't see any gains unless you're gonna run some really extreme mods. Save your money and buy factory filters (about 60 bucks) and change them a little more often.

I went to the local NAPA the other day to get a new filter, and they didn't have a stock filter. They did have a new intake system that was soposed to increase air flow dramatically. And, the filters for the new system are $30 bucks as opposed to $70 for the stock filters. I didn't get it cause I wanted to look into it further. Anybody know more about this?

It's basically the 7.3 filter the way I see it---Flat panel filter. It may be good for quick replacement if you're gonna do it really often, but It's really really hard to beat the stock air filter. You can order the stock filter element online (probably from a vendor on this site) delivered to your house pretty cheap--usually less than a dealer. That airfilter is like cheap insurance for your truck and it will work really well in some pretty extreme conditions--Donaldson has been doing this for a really really long time and they know their stuff.

TC98,

We sell AFE at DPPI and we get customers that claim MPG gains all the time. Anywhere from 0.5 to 1.5 with a Stage II system. The newset Stage II system just arrived and is a KILLER, it's very similar to the Stage II for the 7.3 and has the largest filter of any intake system on the market, includes a 5 inch mandrel tube all the way to the turbo casting and is even relocates the battery on the air system powder coated housing!! The first 25 systems we have also include a replacment filter at no charge!! Approx a 75-90.00 dollar value. They are available in the 5 layer standard filter or the Patented Pro Guard 7 filter. If you have any questions on it just call.
