I just bought an 87 bronco 2 and I would like to know what I can do to make it sway less, lowering is out so, is there some way to widen the wheelbase? Also where can I get a rear spare tire carrier to bolt onto the back as the one on mine is missing? Tried salvage yards and lucked out. Where can I get the best manual for my BII?
I do not know about the first two questions but the manual I would not get a Chiltons I just got one and it pretty much sucks in my opinion. The spare tire carrier I would keep trying the salvage yards, around here where I live Bronco II's are a dime a dozen in most salvage yards.
Well to help the sway you can get new shocks, and or for better stability an offset rim so that the tires stick out more is good to. As for the rear tire rack keep lookin theres alot out there, the manual chiltons is a good manual but it does leave out some of the basics but for "non-major" work its great.
Hope this helped

On the spair tire carrier. Some Bronco II came with out them . Check to see if the slots on the door frame are there for the bracket. I have an 89 Bronco II with the rear carrier & my son has an 88 with out. We compared the two when he was looking for a carrier for his. A little info.
To get rid of the sway you have some choices K bars S makes dual front shock hoop. You can use the stock shock mount location with and make it a triple shock, plus its only $70 compared to James Duff $125, but this will make the front end a lot stiffer some say it is overkill. For the rear Roadmaster Active Suspension will stiffen up the rear end or you could go with leaf springs off a newer explorer they will fit.

Try getting some new bushings for the front sway bar, and even in the back as well.. It's a realy inexpensive option, and i just put new ones up front, there's alot of improvement.
