hey guys my cig. lighter fuse keeps blowin the proper number fuse. i dont use the lighter itself but do use it for accesories.i recently replaced it,used my cell phone charger, worked fine, next day it didnt work, and the fuse was blown.where do i start?
Do you have some after market items installed in you truck? Maybe someone tagged that point for power.
BTW: The 15 amp fuse (#16) also protects the DLC (Data link connector).
sorry for the delay been workin on the dirtbikes, the fuse spot has no after market items and its still blowin fuses,is this bad for the dlc?this may be irrelevant but my fuel heater solder joints are broke under the fuel filter, would that have anything to do with it?
Try to inspect that wire, too. I'm not sure how much of it you'll be able to see but it could be rubbed or pinched somewhere along the way so it's grounding to short. Check near the top of your brake and clutch pedals, too. If it works for a while and then doesn't later on, something is changing along the way like with movement or vibration.
hope you find it soon my '97 is doing the same thing.
think i found the prob. i used my cell charger in another truck, and that cig lighter fuse blew!!so i think i know what the prob. is.also figured out how upload pics in profile, check them out
