Well, within 4 days I bought two more Ford trucks. I think I'm addicted. On Monday I bought the '72 to fix up. The 390 runs great and the tranny and 4x4 work good but the body is very very rough. Yesterday I bought a 2001 Superduty. It's a 2001 but new with 39 miles. V10, XLT, tilt, aluminum wheels, cruise, air, am/fm/cd/cassette stereo, pw, pdl, tinted windows, sliding rear window, running boards, tow package, pretty much everything but leather. I bought this truck to replace my 88 F-250. Since they had it awhile they dropped 10k on the sticker. It was 29,938 and I got it for 19,997. How'd I do?
After looking at the '72 for a couple weeks and beating up the dealer I ended up with it for $600. I'm not sure if thats good or bad due to the BAD rust monsters eating the bed, doors, fenders, and CAB! But I bought it and now I have what I wanted, a project. I have the bed and front clip off of the truck now so I can work on the cab mounts, floors, and corners.
What kind of car did the dealership give you to drive? I don't think you mentioned in your other posts. The "Sales Associate" I dealt with when I bought the 2001 was driving an Escort zx2 because he sold the Mustang he used to drive.
I got a Focus ZX3 but I haven't driven it in a couple weeks because I was told to drive everything, I just had a convertible mustang for the weekend and boy was that fun, I have yet to drive a taurus and windstar but they will be next. For some reason they won't let me drive the Thunderbird yet. In 3 months when it coems time for me to pick one I think I am gonna take a super cab F150 4x4.
