I've drilled mine and installed a zerk. Before doing this I had to remove and lube every spring. Since the zerk no more clunk or removing every spring. The older F-series had a zerk in the drive shafts kind like ball joints and u-joint used to have fittings so they would last longer than 25,000 miles
No problem. I was just confused. I guess since "Spring" wasn't capitalized, that's what threw me. Just goes to show how things can be interpreted differently than meant sometimes.
Well after read this post and viewing some great pics, I broke down and did the deal. Went to ford waited 20 mins to helped. Asked for some good ole blue lube, got a 3oz tube. When I asked how much? He gave it to me and said "sorry about the wait!!" yaaa free!!!
Then went and lubed the driveshaft, test drive showed no more Glunk!!!!
Hey JT, don't feel confised. I have taken a few apart that guess what, thre was a sping in them. Too long ago to remember what brand. I do believe though that it was a Chrysler product.
