I've never done it with an Auto, but it seems it would be simple by just using the pass car side mounts on the engine and a cross member for the trans, and the pass car bellhousing, flexplate etc... it works for standard trans but you have to use the pass car bellhouing also, and I had to use a clutch disc, pressure plate and throwout bearing from a pass car ( smaller input shaft than the truck )..sorry I'm getting off track with the auto swap, my thinking is the opposite, I would take an Auto out, throw it away and put in a stick, but I guess some people have a prefference to an Auto

I myselfe prefer the stick. i am either going to fix up my 3 spd, replace it or put in an automatic. i belive it would be kind of interestign to have a automatic 223. or at least get a way of installiugn one.
My clutch is adjusted all the way out and still isnt working fully also my shift linkage is all but shot. needs alot of work.
how do you adjust the shift linkage, and/or replace the shifter to a another 3 spd floor shift( i alrady have flr shft)
also how do you replace the clutch and/or the throwout bearing/rod?
dont know if there still avalible comp cams carried a couple of cams a few years back i fixed my 223 and 3 speed problem with a 302 and fmx out of a 72 torino with custom mounts retained factory frame braces
