'68 f250 4x4 FLATBED
for a '68 f250 4x4 flatbed.
The core of the truck is fairly stock: 360 engine,
closed knuckle d-44 in front, and I think a d-60
in back. I think it's fairly high geared, judging
from the whine at highway speeds. It has a 4 speed
stick. I put 33" MTs (on 16" rims) to help.
It has a wide flatbed, custom headache bar, toolbox,
all flatbed sides, custom front and rear bumpers
with class 3 style hitches, a ramsey winch in front.
Front bumper has detachable front pipe rack support
and is made of 12" C channel (OK a bit overkill)
tapered at the sides for clearance. Custom new muffler
with a nice throaty sound.
Just had the electrical fixed... new battery... even the horn works.
(Or at least, did 6 months ago.)
Cab is functional but no aesthetic value ('70s funky). Some
dents and body rust, especially on passenger side inc. door.
Grill is brushed aluminum and (of course) dented, along with
the headlight mounts.
I have not seen any such truck in the local want ads
in several months if not a couple of years.
Am real sorry to let this one go.
SF Bay area.
Thanks,
Steve
