I have an Emergency Flasher switch in a bracket which was removed from the botom edge of the dash in a '61 dump truck. It appears to be a factory unit, the **** matches dash *****. The wires have been cut off. My factory manual doesn't mention it, nor does it appear in the wiring diagram. Anybody know how to wire it in to my '61 Unibody?
Not sure if this will help, but it might. On my early '66, it didn't have the 4 ways, as they were an option, not the requirement like they were after 12-31-65. I found a Camper Special and removed the 4 way switch and the small wire harness. When the switch was removed from my 66 CS parts truck, it had a surprise; the underdash bracket you spoke of was attached to it and was mounted with the switch up against the dash from behind. It was mounted in the correct location in the dash with the chrome bezel, along with the correct red Ford dash flasher light with chrome bezel. I had a under dash switch & plate, with it's separate flasher unit, also from an earlier Ford dump truck and it matches. There is a specfic ford wiring harness that will interface with your truck, if you can find that dump truck again. Also, it did come with the Ford red light, mounted in a different location. I tried to manually hook up some ho-made wiring, it didn't work too well. Try to find a Ford truck & get the other parts. You will be very glad you did!
