Bidpay.com

Was just wondering if anyone on here has used www.Bidpay.com to send a payment on Ebay. I put a bid on an item before reading the payment options (I assumed Paypal would be alright) but he doesn't accept PayPal. Only Bidpay.

Any thoughts or comments on this site?

...heck, I didn't even know BidPay still existed!! I've used it, but it was a number of years ago. No problems then. It was before ebay and PayPal became partners.

I was selling on ebay last year and I really liked the bidpay idea. Makes the buyer pay the money exchange fees rather than the seller getting dinged. Most likely, your seller thoroughly understands what I just said and elected to NOT use paypal, something I've thought about doing and resisted. People like paypal so you almost gotta have it. And IIRC, ebay takes a dim view on people that charge a buyer 3% more for using paypal. One guess who owns paypal?

I don't think eBay lets you charge anything extra for using Paypal. I've seen some people (and in fact have been one a few times) who allows a discount if you DON'T, though.

I had a Bidpay account at one time, for about the same reasons....bid on something from someone who didn't use Paypal. I didn't have any problems with it. It's been quite a while back though.

I used it once, a long time back. I thought the fees to the buyer were excessive

I have accepted BidPay on eight or so orders, from overseas customers, otherwise always PayPal. The thing with BidPay is if the seller is dishonest, it opens the buyer wide open to fraud because it gives you no recourse once they cash the check.
