Just curious if anyone else selling things on ebay has the same luck as I do. Of the last 3 items I've sold on there 2 of the high bidders turned out to be deadbeats! I've also had it happen before about a year ago with a couple people. Last item I listed was a truck frame and axles, said I wouldn't ship the item, and the high bidder (according to ebay) is in Georgia...and I'm in PA! Doesn't matter anyway, they won't answer my emails.
Welcome to the club. I marked my ads "paypal" only and morons bidding on <$1 coins still bid and won, even though they could not use PayPal (read so stiff they have neither a checking acct. or credit card).
I hate the people that buy stuff and immediatly resell it just for the money. I have tracked the same supertrap exhaust for my Polaris Scrambler through 5 different sellers. I want it to use it not sell it.
Report 'em! You can file a non-paying bidder report (NPB) with ebay and if they get three from seperate sellers they are kicked off of ebay for good. Under "My Ebay", in the "Selling" section, along the bottom there is a "Trust and Saftey" section where you can find the "Non-Paying Bidder Program" link. If it hasn't been more than 45 days you can report there butts.

You can't blame a guy for wanting to make a few bucks. I've done it several times. The easiest time was when I bought an 82 pontiac 6000 in the morning for $750 and that afternoon (before I even got the car home) I sold it for $1000. Did nothing to it. Everyone was happy in the deal.
I wouldn't do that with to a friend or family member, or I would at least give them the chance to sell it first.
yo, my son paid and never did get his shoes via e bay; ut he did the credit card thing and our Navy Fed. Union wiped out the charge and is doing their thing to recoup the $ from the seller. I have to ask him how he did the credit card charge later; I think (guessing) he did pay pal and then used cc to make transfer.
Im having the opposite problem...
I bought a set of valve covers and still havent received them
I bought them about 1 1/2 weeks ago, and he said they would be here in 3 days... How do I report that?
Please report these deadbeat bidders/sellers both here and to ebay. I do not want to risk buying or selling to somone who will rip me off. I buy a lot of stuff on ebay and would appreciate the heads-up.

but I wouldn't jump to using it after only a week and a half. Any postal service is unrelaible and could take far more time than expected. I once had a package dissapear for *three months* with the USPS. The gal I bought it from sent it 3 day air. She was very coopritive and even called me up to try and get things settled.
If the guy you bought from is compleatly unresponsive for more than 2 1/2 - 3 weeks (into the deal) and you haven't seen your item then, by all means, report him. Hopefully you'll get your money back and they'll get whats coming to them!
Also, for both deadbeat bidders and sellers: make sure to hit 'em with Negitive Feedback. Theres no getting away from ugly feedback.
When having problems with eBayers, try to solve it with them via email or something first. There are things to do and they are there to protect the buyers and sellers. If they are reluctant or don't answer questions about shipping, etc, then report them.
As far as our lovely snail mail service, I got married in November, sent invitataions out 6-8 weeks prior. Deadline to get back was Oct 15th. Talked to my buddy that works on our horses about his response. He said he mailed it. It showed up after the honeymoon, 5 weeks after the post mark on it.
As buyers, if we don't pay for insurance, and it gets lost, its our fault. My wife and I both sell and buy on eBay, and most of the people are good. Check their feedback, it's the BBB of eBay.
It's hailing here and I'm gonna go play in the snow.
I have made about 140 purchases on ebay. I have never sold anything there. Out of the purchases I had trouble with three of the sellers. Now, when I do win a bid on an item I do my best to get their e-mail address and phone number. I have found that helpfull in making contact with deadbeat sellers. I had a guy hack my paypal account one time and bought or, almost bought a laptop computer. The hacker was operating out of a country in Africa called Guinea Bissau. I was able to stop the transaction with the seller and re-coup my money because I caught it immediately when paypal sent me an e-mail telling me that I had just paid for an item.
Thanks for the link. Im reporting the guy.
I had several contacts with him before the end of the auction, I paid using paypal, he said he would ship day after the check cleared. it cleared, and a week and a half later I have no package, and he won't reply.
Thanks again for the link
You might want to check out this link. I would send them an e-mail informing them of this link first and see if they respond to you and if not then file a complaint. http://www1.ifccfbi.gov/strategy/statistics.asp
Well guess I can say it's not so nice to know I'm not alone on this deal! I'm going to go report them to ebay as a non-paying bidder and go the bad feedback route. I've noticed more and more sellers restricting bidders with limited or negative from even bidding on their auctions. Sure is a shame more websites and their users all can't be on the up-and-up...like FTE!
