I have been reading some of the posts about all the tranny problems in our trucks. I am now 2nd guessing doing a DP chip, or even owning the truck for that matter.
Is there anyone that has modest mods that has not had to have thier tranny rebuilt? With say under 150k
Will a transmission cooler and bts valve body prevent premature failure? Or should everyone that plans to modify thier psd just go ahead and start a savings account for one of Brian's transmissions?
i have 205k on my stock tranny with some modest mods. i have a hypermax 90hp chip and a 10k mod. if you take care of them i think they can last a long time. a tranny cooler and valve body will help out and also changing the fluid regularly
I got 165k on my stock, have at times run 60-80 hp tunes and/or propane. If you take care of it, and don't do stupid stuff like powerstands and burnouts, it will probably last ok.
