Hangin' at BTS - any recommendations?
Today's my day at BTS. Tranny's rolling around the shop as I type this. Brian and crew have been nothing but the best so far. Any recommendations to throw my way while the truck is up in the air?
We did find that the PO had an auxiliary tranny cooler bolted in. That promptly went in the trash. A 6.0 cooler is being mounted up shortly. We also found the driver's side manifold was loose.
I'd post pics but I'm using my iPad right now.

I post from my phone all the time. Download the photobucket app, it's a breeze to upload directly, and you can copy direct links and paste them into the post. Obviously if you have the first gen ipad with no camera then the above instructions are worthless.
As far as what all to have them look at/do, might as well check the ball joints while it's in the air, as well as the rest of the front end. If it's 4x4 and has ABS, go ahead and pull the wheels and rotors and shoot some grease in the ABS hole to grease the front bearings. Check for boost and exhaust leaks if they have the testers made and ready to go.
Have them check the ujoints too, and if you are due, replace the diff fluid.
I haven't heard anything negative about BTS tunes, if you don't have any already, might consider talking to Brian about it...
EDIT: I now can see that you have 4x2, so the front bearing grease is not applicable. Still might as well grease everything else while it's in the air...

Back in the fiver, dinner in tummy. Let's recap the day:
1. Trans rebuild - check
2. Tightened loose DS manifold - check
3. 60 HP tune with modified shift strategy - check
4. Free lunch at Casa del Subway - check
5. New turbo output housing - no go but offered to mail one later
6. T-shirts, one for me, one for the wife - check
7. Stupid grin on face on drive back - check
Mission accomplished. Looking forward to pulling the fiver back down US 65 tomorrow (not to mention heading towards Florida).
Forgot to mention, had the rig weighed the other day and, fully loaded, running right at 23K total.

Pics or it didn't happen. Dropping the tranny.
Ready to disassemble (yes, that is soot down the right side. Found some loose manifold bolts).
Brian working his magic.
Everything stuffed back in. This was around 2:30 PM (pulled it at 9:00 AM).
TC installed and ready to drop back into the truck.
Bolting it up (around 3:00 - 3:30 PM).
