Howdy all,
I'm tryin to help my friend out. He has a 79 F250 4x4. He has the front locking hubs torn apart. The only thing holding him up are the spring retainers. His are pretty well worn and hes in the market for new ones. Problem is nobody sells them. Not Ford, not Mopar, none of the major parts stores either. Is there anywhere he can go. We've been looking for driveline shops in our area that carry Dana parts but can't find any. Thanks very much.
Thanks for the help but I'm havin trouble findin the part there. I have access to the part number for the Dana 60 but dont have one for the 44. Thanks.
Sorry I wasnt clear. He's got the 44 H/D up front. I'm not findin the right part. Its the retainer that holds the spring inside the locking hub. Thanks.
I don't think that there are any new parts available for those locking hubs. You may be able to source some good used pieces or complete assemblies from a wrecking yard.
The best route though would be to upgrade to aftermarket locking hubs such as Warn or MileMarker.
