Need Choke Rod Retainer
I have a 1986 Ford van XL. The plastic retainer that holds the
rod to the choke plate lever is broken and the rod pulls out and won,t stay in place. The local dealer said the retainer is now obsolete and they don,t stock it. Tried other parts dealers all over
town with no success. The 4bbl carburetor is of holley design and
the part # is E6HE and the motor is a 351w. Could somebody please tell me where i can purchase
another retainer without having to buy a whole rebuild kit.
THANK YOU

Need Choke Rod Retainer
If you posted a picture of the plastic thing and the choke rod, it might be easier to make a suggestion. If I remember correctly, they look almost like the retainer for door rods. A 90 degree plastic elbow that pushes into the arm?
If so, a push nut might be the best thing as long as there was still enough of the plastic elbow/bushing left to cushion and align the rod.
