Is there an easy way to access the oil pump/remove the bottom pan on a 92 4.0 OHV engine
Actually - that is a good question. Apparently the Ford dealer changed my pan gasket out 2 different times under warranty for leaks. I can not believe they pulled the motor to do this since both times it was in and out the same day. Maybe some suspension components need to be dropped...but I would think you can pull the pan with the motor in place.
Either way, I would first change out my O2 sensors before I did anything else....

The purpose is to shake out those "well I think it's a stupid question so I wont ask" questions.
Something like, there's a oil leak somewhere...looks like the oil filter...but I change the fliter, new gasket...still leaks, any ideas?
Maybe 10 other guys out there have the same issue but didn't think twice about it. Might be as simple as new o-rings on the oil filter adapter...which is hard to see and behind the exhaust manifold.
Oil pan removal is a good question. I also want to know how to remove it with the engine still in place. So if anyone knows...pipe up!
