Shock upgrade recommendation for 02 E150?
I've got an '02 E150 with relatively low miles (40k), bought it new, and the front shocks in particular have felt a bit "bouncy" from day one....I think there's a picture of twin I-beams next to the definition of "unsprung weight" in the dictionary 8-)
Is anyone making a nice HD replacement shock that will give a bit more control but not a teeth-jarring ride? I haven't looked at all that's available--are any of the medium/high-end companies like KYB making good shocks for Ford vans?
I remember putting some Gabriel "Red Ryders" or something like that on an '86 GMC van back in 1990 or so; they were great for handling but were pretty darn stiff riding as I recall. And I put KYB's on an old FJ40 Land Crusher I used to own--they seemed like good shocks but the suspension on that thing was pretty darn brutal so it was hard to tell what the shocks actually did for the ride...
Thanks in advance for any info,
George
