Yes, there are a few companies that make led light bulbs that will fit in our ford trucks. You must, however, switch out your turn signal flasher unit with a special LED one or a Heavy duty flasher. The bulbs themselves are quite complex. You must get the bulbs with leds one the end as well as around the perimeter of the bulb to ensure proper illumination.(these bulbs usually have between 18-24 LEDS in them) Unfortunaltly, these are quite expensive. If you decide to go LED, make sure to get hi-quality bulbs with many leds in each, the more the better. superbrightleds.com offers some of the highest quality leds on the market. They also offer some pretty cool interior lighting options.

I rolled my own, using ridiculously bright red LED's. I just have to get around to digging out the (used) taillights I'm going to install them in, slice them apart, then glue them back together with my circuitry inside.
It's really not that difficult to make your own, if you can solder. The trick is to make a multi-input current regulator circuit so you can run the LED's at 1/2 brightness to simulate parking lights, full brightness for blinking for hazard or turn signal, and full brightness for brake.
Guys, Thanks for the replies!! but I am no electrician and wouldn't even consider making my own.
I am looking for complete tail light units to replace my stockers.
I have seen them made for '55-'57 Chevies, and most all early Mustangs.
