1805 Flashpaq Update? Vic??

Well I have been running the 1805 in economy mode since about 5 thousand miles - 15 thousand later it still purrs. When I originally flashed it, it seemed to get louder at idle and under acceleration and a small amount of soot would come from the tailpipe under hard acceleration.

I updated the Flashpaq online yesterday just before clearing the trouble code on my truck (the CEL after teaching my 14 year old daughter how to drive a standard ) I took the updates over the net, cleared the CEL code, and reflashed the truck to take the updates (again in economy mode, 94 hp)

The truck now almost sounds quiet at idle - smooth and just a bit louder than gas. Sure it rattles like rocks in a coffee can the minute you touch the accelerator but at idle it's almost sickeningly quiet. It runs like a raped ape but again, under hard acceleration I could get no soot? it always puffed a bit-o-black. The exhaust was clean. The turbo seems a bit louder now.

Same fuel I have always used, nothing changed but the flash, and the turbo is working fine. Any ideas? did they rewrite the engine file? the tranny file makes no difference, it's a ZF6

Just looking for an idea....my neighbors almost like me again

Mike

I have the Superchips 1704-A. Can you update the tunes for it or is it just the Flashpaq?

That's progress baby.....Does it fees as fast as before?
Does it still run to 4200 RPM and how does it respond to load?
Remember, R&D on this engine has been ongoing for 4, almost 5 years now.
If an improvement can be made, it will be made...

Well, it wasn't me....lol....I haven't tuned any car since last September, and haven't tuned a Ford diesel since last July.

Wayyyy too busy growing the directory.
