Post 240/300 same flywheel

i have a '66 f100 with a 240 that finally pooped on me. thinking about moving up to a 300 (out of a '75 van) but not sure if i can use the same flywheel/ currently the beast has a 4speed (w/bull low). i had the clutch replaced and some minor work done on the tranny a year or so ago and would hate to have to part with it. being that the 240 and 300 are pretty much the same, i'm thinking i should be able to slide in the 300 without any problems.

am i off base...?

Here's the easiest way to find out: call up your local parts store, ask for "price and availability on a flywheel for a (year) 240 and for a (year)300." "Thanks, I appreciate your help. By the way, are they the same."
