65 I beam/spindle interchange

Ok, I got a CS w/7500lb max load rating 2wd, I have a replacement pr of I beams w/spindles(1-65 and the other 66)
Question I got, as far as doing kingpins on my replacement beams, which part/s are unique to the CS??? As I recall I got one of them off of a 1/2 ton....Let me know......

Thanks

Ford I-beams are interchangeable up thru 1979. However, I would ireccommend installing a set on your truck that came from the same doner truck. This way, they will have had the same usage. If you use the mixed set, it will work, but I would replace the king pins, bearings, etc.. If you get a set of ibeams up around 78-79, the king pins and bearings may be useable (repack the bearings!) as they are. King pins on these trucks are NOT fun to change!

I have heard the "fun" of kingpins!!! Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes not as to ease of R&R. One thing I have thought of as to correct beams is finding another pr with the same pt/casting # as what I am running around on...My orig. beams have had the K/pins done many years ago, but the beams themselves are bent a good bit...LF is tight as to steering, but RF is slop city.
As to the grunt work, when money allows I will most likely farm it out to my local Ford truck dealer, I sure dont wanna have to do it a second time...besides, dealers have the fancy tools needed to hone and polish things up so it goes together correctly, plus it would be guaranteed!!!!

You don't need fancy tools to swap in the whole I-beam. Thing is, if it was aleigned before, it will remain so. That stopping power with the discs is great.
