Hey everyone,
I am just finishing up the last part of sanding on my truck before it will be painted hopefully in a few weeks and I just got done putting POR-15 on the chassis/drivetrain of my truck(which I must say is an awesome product!). After the paint job(the inside is going to be metallic silver and the outside Viper Metallic Blue), I want to put the door panels found at www.roddoors.com. I was wondering if anyone here has had any experience with them or with their products. I think it would be a nice addition and doesn't look to hard to customize to fit my truck. Thank ya much!
I've noticed a couple of people talking about their door panels, but have been to their site and never found anything for the 61-66 Fords. Did I miss something?
Kyle,
I saw their display cab at the F100 Super Nationals. It impressed me. Especially the headliner for $139, $60 less than the stock cardboard ones. They have a panel for behind the seats, with or without the gas tank. Just glue on your favorite fabric or vinyl and pop into place with velcro. No sewing or funky clips.
there site doesn't have door panels just for our trucks, but I found some that looks like they are just door panels you can shave to make fit. I looked at some of the s and they look about the same shape as our doors and you can order them in different dimensions. I am also thinking about geting that "FORD" script thingy to put under the headliner...looks pretty cool. Thanks for the responses!
I also saw the display at the supernats and was quite impressed. I was talking to one of the sales guys and he said that they just started carrying the 61-66 interior. The kickpanels are perfect fit, including that indent for the fender bolt just under the dash, the door panels fit the curves of the doors, and the headliner is perfect. I also liked the seat that they had in it, but since i have a good original I'm just gonna recover it. With the panels from roddoors and buying fabric for seat/panels and carpet I'm only gonna have about 500$ in the interior, which is a steal for the professional look it has.
I'm also considering the dash insert from Carolina Classics for the 6 guage panel. I love the look of the old cluster, but I want a full set of real (reliable) guages.
Thier NEW catalog does show pictures for our trucks. Page 10. I saw the display too at PF and they looked great. It's a FULL door panel, not the little stock ones. Covers the whole door. They also have kick panels with and without speaker mounts. I think the guy told me they still had to update thier website. They introduced those new 61-66 products AT the Forge. The seat is awsume too!! Later,
Thanks for the info. I just requested one of their catalogs. I didn't know that they have them specifically for 61-66's. Prolly because like you said, they have'nt updated their website! Can't wait to get that catalog!
Me too! I called about an hour ago and he said it would be on it's way today. (then I thought about it, and remembered that there's a 2 hour time difference between Texas & California.....)
Kyle <--Patiently awaiting arrival of Rod Doors Catalog
