Friday night/Saturday morning a very good friend of mine was killed. My friend(Neil) and his father(Larry) were fishing a night tournment, and they were comming back to weigh in (it was about 3 am and raining), they came around a cove and ran into a pontoon boat. The pontoon boat did not have any lights on, they did not see the pontoon boat and ran into them, resulting in Neil drowning and Larry being possibly paralized from the waist down.
The boat they ran into had been fined several times for drinking and running at night with no lights on, and they were charged at fault for this accident.
Another fisher witnessed the accident and pulled Larry out of the water(he was unconcious) then got the people from the other boat out of the water, Larry came to about 10-15 minutes later and asked the guy where his boy (Neil) was, and the guy said he never saw him. The rescue team found him at about 8 oclock that night at the bottom of the lake.
Please pray for Larry and the family. Neil was only 22.
Done....
I guess your friends in a better place now. Just had a funeral a few weeks ago. The pastor said something along the lines of, "let there be tears of joy, not sadness. When God calls a loved one home." Never works to hear it at the time but after awhile I guess he's right.
