the good stuff goes fast RANT
I found a great boat in my price range 4-7 grand. Go look at it on tuesday, Tell the guy I'm interested, but have to see what bank says.. Go to bank the same day... Talk it over with my wife.... Wednesday night we decide to offer to buy it, Call him first thing today, and Sure enough, sold last night to some dude who brought cash.....
I spent most of the day kicking myself (spent the rest of the day having my wife tell me "i told ya not to get excited") for not bringing a couple C notes with incase I liked it...... I didnt realize how much of a GEM this was....
Found A very simmiliar boat, Although 2 grand more In my hometown, Call the guy today.... Sold this morning, "but it's a really great boat" he says....
Oh well, I've found the same boat, A lil more money a few hours away... Road trip tomarow.....
TUrns out some guy traded it in the precvious night..... SCORE... More to come
Everybody and their brother wants to gawk at it, nobody has MONEY!!!
I've been trying to sell mine (17' bass boat) for over 2 months, and here it sits. I can't tell you the moronic questions I've been asked. And the plain ignorant. For example, if you don't know what a bass boat is, why call the guy selling one and bother him. When folks ask me questions like "How many people does it hold?" (grrr, it's a bassboat, not a pontoon boat!!!!) and "Does that have an Inboard?" and "Did you break the windshield, or just take the other half off?" (It's a SINGLE CONSOLE, that's all that's SUPPOSED to be there!!).. "Yes, this does in fact go faster than your uncle's Bayliner, no it doesn't hold 7 people, nor would I recommend attempting to load 7 people on ANY 17' boat on the market, unless it happens to have a 24' beam, and no, it doesn't have a ski pole, subwoofers, or balast tanks."
I mean, questions like that immediately reveal to me that this person has no idea what they are looking at, have never owned, used, or most likely seen a boat like this, and, in reality, have NO BUSINESS operating it, as it can get VERY dangerous, very quickly, in the hands of an inexperienced operator..
Then, if you do get one that has a clue what they are looking for, they sound like you dropped a safe on their grandma when you tell 'em the price... Look it up, it's worth every penny and more I am asking, but these schmucks are only looking if they can get it for free. I've more "Oh, well, I'd be willing to take over payments." and "What would you take in trade?" offers than I care to tell. CASH! get it? Money. I didn't list the price in 4-wheelers, beat up Hondas, monthly payments, or Wal-mart gift cards, I listed the price in US DOLLARS, and that is what I expect in payment. I've been very open with anyone who has shown some real interest in buying it, that I am more than willing to be flexible with the price to get it gone. What do I get in response, "Would you take payments?" NO!!!!! Credit criminals.. gotta love it..
OK...
