Has anyone used E3 spark plugs in a newer ranger 4.0? I have a 2002 4.0 that I am considering putting a set in, I have heard great things a few mustang people but haven't heard of them being used in a ranger so far.
I've read all the posts that saw to stick with Motorcraft so I'm not asking that, just if anyone has any experience with the E3's. www.E3sparkplugs.com
Thanks!!

Multi-electrode plugs take a bashing on this and other forums for various reasons, some valid, some not. I have not used this particular plug, but have used other multi-electrode plugs with no detrimental effects. If the heat range, gap, etc., is correct, the plug should be beneficial especially being a side electrode plug. This type of plug has been used in aircraft for years.
Hopefully, someone has used these plugs in the same application as yours, and can give you further input. If not, give them a try. However, if they are cost prohibitive it might not be worthwhile. jd
All of their test were done on 19kw Engines....That is about 25.5 HP. Lawnmower size. They also used the EPA test procedures CFR40-90. That test does not apply to automotive engine testing. Now they do point that out so they are not directly misleading you...But it is a typical case of mixing oranges with apples. Its your money!

I put in a set of E3's on my 2001 Ranger, and have been impressed every since. I have gained mileage and a little better throttle response out of them. I am about to change the ones in my explorer to the same. E3 for me.
