Am I the only one who noticed that the vette looks like the viper. On the cover of road and track a couple monthes ago there was shootout betwwent he two. The designs of the cars a very similar-- looks wise! What sup with that chevy thing that looks like a PT cruiser?? Is chevy ripping of designs or what?
For me, most of the cars of today look alike. I have to look at the logo or read the brand and model, they just look alike. I think when a company comes out with a good selling vehicle, the competion then copies it.
Chrysler is coming out w/ some DAMN good designs. I wish Ford would try to copy some of their car designs instead of coming out w/ bland 4 doors. The only good lookin' car Ford has is the 'Stang.
The same guy who designed the PT did the HHR, so yeah, very similar. Viper and Vette look similar because they are both the same class of sports car, just one is for the entry-level, the other is for more advanced users who can handle big hp.
Yah vettes are way better than vipers, the viper has only 510 hp and a V10 the vetts push 500 or sumthin. P;us vettes are more customizable i think. Never seen a custom viper other than wheels, but vette owners put body kits, superchargers, exhaust, wheels, suspension etc. I think vettes are an enthusiast car as where vipers are an ego car. I gotta hand it to dodge though, that SRT 10 pickup is bad A
This really isn't anything new. Look at the first cars, all look similar, because they did originally try to copy one another. This has been going on for a long time. Then they hire designers, that have been through the same schools, have similar influences, see how well something their competition is selling, etc.
