I have a 1987 c6 tranny and i would like to put a shift kit into it! I was looking at transgo, but was wanting to hear your guys input/advise. The truck is for off roading only and the enigne is going be built right now to about 500hp.

Rather then mess with a shift kit i went with a replacement valve body from tci that already has the shift kit done to it. Was like 120 dollars and seems to work pretty well. That would be my suggestion

This might be a noob question but im only 17 and starting out, so what the hell here it goes, when im looking at the vavle bodies i have found forward or reverse patterens. What does that mean, what the differences?

forward pattern shifts like stock-PRN321
reverse pattern shiftsPRN123. this will be a manual valve body,meaning you will have to make all the shifts yourself,no more auto functions.

So i have never worked on a tranny before how easy or diffcult is it?
