Im building a truck for mod bogs and would like to put a different vavle body on for my C6 tranny. I was wondering what you guys would recommed either forward or reverse pattern?
My personal choice is a reverse pattern. 2 reasons for this actually, first is when your shifting and you are in third you won't accidently hit it into nuetral, second reason is when your getting after it and you need another gear it's just a matter of moving your hand down basically to shift to the next gear but on a forward pattern you have to reach back and then forward to shift. Takes a couple times to get used to but after about the second or third run, I started to wonder why I ever used a foward patter VB.
I had a reverse pattern manual valve body with a B&M ratchet shifter and loved it. It went into first gear with the first yank back on the stick... and up shifted to 2nd with just another secure bump of the stick, then 3rd after another. I miss it...
Good call with the reverse pattern valve bodies. Just a thought... Many ratchet shifters are also capable of air shifter modifications. Automatically shifting via rev control, or steering wheel mounted pushbutton. This allows the driver to keep both hands on the wheel.
