Hi all.
This is odd and I'm stumped. For some reason my climate control fan suddenly only works on positions 3 and 4 (med-hi and hi). 1 and 2 don't blow air at all.
I've check all fuses and found nothing. Is this in the switch or is it possibly a relay somewhere?
What year is it. you might have a vaccum leak, but that diesn't quite make sence becuase if you did, all the functions would have stopped working. This topic has come up befor. just do a search for a/c.
on my 99 mazda b4000 i think my ac is stuck on even when not in use because i looked under the hood and the compressor is all wet with moister and i hear a humming from under the hood? how could i find out if it is on or not? and what is that humming noise from?
Wintremute, I'd suspect you have a problem with the blower motor resistor pack.
It's a series of wire wound resistors, used to control the blower motors speed & located under hood, passengers side, in the heater air ducting, for cooling of the resistors wires.
You may have problems with the external electrical connections to the resistor pack, or more likely, a open circuit in one or more of the wire wound resistors controlling the two troublesome fan speeds.
So check the external electrical connections, if ok & you don't have an ohm meter, pull the resistor pack & check it & see if you can visually find a open wire.
