Ranger GT
Can anyone point me in the right direction as to where I could find out more about this factory optioned truck???
My dad has an 88, and I've heard ludicrious production numbers of like 600-700... is this true, or can someone shed some light on the subject. I did a search and came up with nothing on the ranger board already though
we would just like to find out a little more about it and that sort of thing. He's the original owner and has well over 170k already

Production of "88 Ranger GT
Hello. Greetings from Detroit! I am currently contemplating buying one of these vehicles. In my research, I have been told by a Ford employee that they only made 1500 Ranger GT's om 1988. Hope this helps.

But it doesn't have a larger dislacement endine, or a turbo, or anything to make it stand out as more of a racing truck? thats kinda point less, when i heard ranger gt, i thought ford might have somethin to rival the SRT-10

Ford does have something to rival the srt 10, it's called a lighting. Truck trend took them both to the strip, srt 10 was quicker, but only by a fraction of a second, it was something like a 13.54 to a 13.36. And the dodge has a 100 more hp and 2 more cyclinders. So I would say the old lighting rivals it, and the new lighting will destroy it, as it will have 500 hp, and a 6 speed manual trans like the srt 10. Ford hasn't said what motor the new lighting will have, it could be the V 10, or the new huricane, or maybe they will stick with the bloiwn 5.4, I hope it's the huricane, something different for a change. I don't think the V 10 would fit the f-150 anyway.

Base

Low Suspension
5 speed Transmission (Geared Differently then the 5 speed w/od)
4.10 Gear Ratio
22" rims with 27" tires (Eagle LS)
Reg radio options
A/C
Bed Liner w/ tuannue cover
Nerf bar/step bar
Dual Exhaust
20.25 gal fuel tank
Hood Scoops
And other cool looking exterior looks
