Help with posting.....

I just became a member today and already this forum has been a big help. However, I'm a little confused with posting/replying. When I post a new message or reply, I'm taken to a screen with a 'reply' box. How do I get back to this forum after a post/reply? I've been closing out and relogging in after each.

at the near top of the page, there is a solid blue bar that goes across the whole screen. right above that there is your log-in info to the right, and to the left of that in the center is

"Ford Truck Enthusiast Forums > Diesel > 1999 - 2003 7.3L Powerstroke Diesel > Help with posting...."

click on the part that says "1999 - 2003 7.3L Powerstroke Diesel" it will take you back to the 7.3 forum. or say if you want to browse other parts of FTE, click on the very first link "Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums". there is a ton of forums on this place, its baffling.

or you could set the 7.3 forum to your homepage like i did, and then click on the Home button on your browser to get back.

Simple fix if we can get the admin to do it.

After you post, it should take you to the thread where you just posted and display your post in the thread. From there, you can just scroll to the top and click on the link that strokin pointed out.

Or, you could do what I do. Open one page with the 7.3 forum, and then open the threads you want to look at or reply to in new windows or tabs (if your browser has tabs). That way, the main forum page is always open.

Been using FoxFire as my browser for about 2 years now, great browser unless you hit a stupid site that was coded for some of the IE propriatary stuff that's not W3C compliant. I have the 7.3 forum as one of the icons in my top personal toolbar, then it's just a right click on the topic you want to read and choose "open link in new tab". Read or reply to the thread and close the tab, then you're back to the thread listing.
There is a link to FoxFire's page at the bottom of each of my Mods and Maintenance pages.

guzzle, that's what I'm talking about. I'm mac based, so Safari is what I use. But, for the PC based computers, FozFire, Mozilla, or Opera are all good browsers that should use tabs.

Yep Foxfire is the way to go. Been using it for a couple years now and don't miss IE at all.

You can also do this: In IE, click on View, Toolbars, and make sure Links is selected. Then, go to FTE or the 7.3L section or whatever page you want. Click and drag the icon next to the address and drop it in the LInks toolbar. A little icon will show there, and you can rename the text to FTE or 7.3L or whatever you want. From then on, you just click that and it takes you straight there. I've got one button on mine for all the sites I visit regularly.

JT with your Mac you should also have access to Firefox. It's what I use at home here on my Mac. For PC's, IE has a new beta version out and available for download. I've been using it on my PC at work and it's a pretty nice browser, with tabs and all.

I thought they were actually talking about firefox. Had me going for a minute there and was about to look for foxfire at mozilla. Gotta be careful around here as there are sharks in the waters from time to time.
