460 conversion - thorley headers
I am putting a 93 EFI 460 into my 78 F250 4x4 with a 4" lift. I have ordered the ceramic coated Thorley headers for the 2wd 460, but the salesman didn't know if they would fit the 4x4. He said I could send them back if they didn't.
Anybody have any experience with the Thorley's. They are a few bucks more, but I'm a firm believer in you get what you pay for........ I am also wondering how well the headers will fit the EFI heads?
Thanks in advance!

That's exactly the info I was looking for....... I called Stan and he explained what I need and why. Which is how I like my explanations; what & why!
So just to "go on record", help other's out & reduce Stan's phone call's. He Said the 78 4x4 truck with a 460 requires the 246 model header, the efi heads require a special flange and the O2 bung should be welded in after the headers are fit tested to confirm clearance for the sensor. I also want ceramic coating, so he recommended I buy the headers raw with no coating. That way I can detemine the sensor location, weld in the bung and have them coated at a local shop.
Also, the 2wd headers I ordered from Thorley will not fit because of clearance and the transfer case.
That's why I love this site!
