First of all these questions pertain to the pics in my 'Parts in Question' gallery.
My boyfriend had never seen the rubber thats all around the coil spring mount on the front axle. Is that normal? It does look kind of funky.
Also, there are 2 pics of the frame rust on my truck. Its only in the rear over the axle, the front of the frame looks good. When shelby987 (my bf) asked about the frame rust before we got it, it sounded like frame rust is not impossible to overcome. Now that i have it here and can take pics of it, what do you guys think? Could I get away with plates welded on there to help reinforce it?
hope you are to set on that being an f250 cause its a 150 with what looks like a full floating 60 rear end f250 4x4s had (have) leaf springs front and rear, low pinion front dana 44. wow that frame is in tuff shape How good are you at fabricating and shaping steel? can you find any good metal to tie into farther up the frame rails? you will need 3/16 sheet steel a plasme cutter and wire feed welder to do it. After replacing the bad parts I would think about boxing the frame area in question + an extra 10inches each direction or at least past the leaf spring brackets .
