Goofy cat

Ever since I had my cat declawed a couple of weeks ago, he rubs his mouth and fang on you to get your attention. He just rubs it on your hand or whatnot but doesn't open his mouth. What a goon.

My 11-y.o., declawed cat does the same thing. He'll also rub his teeth on the corners of cardboard boxes and likes to lick my nose.

That's where the scent gland is. He may be wanting attention, but he's also marking you as "his territory".

I wonder if thats something that declawed cats do. I don't recall him doing this before we had him declawed.

My cat was declawed when he was really little. For the longest time he cried and my mom carried him everywhere. parents said they even let him sleep in their bed till one day he forgot mom was in the room and jump up on the dresser from that day on hes been the biggest faker i ever came across lol

from what i've heard, in the process of declawing a cat a chunk of each toe is also removed. the cat must relearn how to walk balancing themselves on their heels.

for example imagine having your toes removed and try to walk. this makes the animal depressed and more screwed up in the head the any cat is already.

my uncle looked into having his cats declawed, did quite a bit of research and found plenty of mental and pyhsical health reasons to have the surgery done.
