i have a 98 ranger 4x4 3.slow with an auto this ony happens very often but concerns me when im cruising down the freeway about 65-70 and i hit the accelerator just enough to somewhat accell the best way i can desribe it is a farting noise anything i should be woried about or the cause of the problem thanks for your time
It will make the fart noise and i can here threw the tail pipe and it will only accel only slighly it did it on my stock truck but hasnt done it since i have put 33s on my truck which has only been about 6 months but just thought about it againt today and thought i would ask i always check the forums atleast twice a day so if you need more info let me know thanks for the reponse

The engine is probably stressed under load. The engine is designed to cruise at 2500 rpm, so it doesn't have a whole lot of power at that low rpm. All the engine is doing is bogging down as it gets enough power. Perfectly normal.
