Ok... so I got my 1987 F250 with 240 000 miles on it... I am going to look at a 1990 F350 7.3L for mostly parts... Its a nice truck and all, but its a crew cab long box... not what I am looking for...
Its got a ZF 5 speed, and a king pin D60 front... plus a cleaner front clip, better doods, winch and winch bumper, new 34" swampers... and a bunch of other goodies..
So here is my question. This truck has the same amount of miles on it as mine.... do I keep my 6.9L or swap over the 7.3?? I am leaning towards keep the 6.9L since it runs awsome, but I really dont know....
If the answer is keep the 6.9L, dont the 7.3L IP and injectors swap over to the 6.9L, and were they not better???
Im not looking to start a debate here, just some advice...
I would say if you are happy with the 6.9 leve it there and you can always keep the 7.3 for a spare incase something should ever happen to the 6.9. Thats my two cents
Both are good engines, the 7.3 makes a little more HP, but if your not pulling alot, I would take the parts off of the 350, doors, front clip, front axle, etc. that you want on the 250. Then pull the 7.3, wrap it up and put it in the garage to have as a backup, then sell the rest of the 350.
Why do the engine swap now, if your happy with what you have?
Just my 2 cents.
