I've got a 05 F250 extended cab, diesel. It has 30,100 miles on it. Around 25,000 I started getting a knocking sound and feeling on the drivers side. It was still under Ford warranty so I took it in. When I picked it up the invoice says they "realigned driver side floor".
My question is now that I'm out of warranty how do I do this myself? The knock is begining to come back. Or is this possibly a more serious issue starting?? It sounds easy enough but I can't figure it out!
oh my bad ,but your still under warranty aren't you?
Yes awhile ago there was a problem with body mount bushings causing a poping noise.
because the sheetmetal was flexing and hitting the bolt that passed through the cab mounts.
I guess I am still under warrenty, for whatever reason I was thinking it was 30k instead of 36k.
The problem feels like a part of the transmission (should mention mine's a standard) is knocking into the floor pan. I guess for now I'll take it back to Ford, and just hope that one of the mechanics in nice enough to tell me what they're doing so I can take care of it in the future.
Whatever they tell you, I bet it required the use of a BFH (big f****g hamer). That is the only way I can see to realign a floor. I think you should ask more questions.
