Mine did not come with one and I would like to add it if possible.

I would guess that should be no problem, just go to your dealer and have them order one for you, maybee the parts department has one in stock, here in New York State they come installed, we are required to have a license plate in front...
I would think all front bumpers are all made the same weather your state require a license plate or not, should be an easy install.

All front bumpers on the new body style 2004+ F-150's are the same when it comes to the license plate bracket. The dealership is obviously your best option. They might even GIVE it to you ... just tell them your truck didn't come with one. It's worth a shot. Past that, how much can it really be? There's one on eBay (click me) at the moment.

Re

Thanks for the reply guys. I was not worried about getting one but how hard would it be to install myself. Did not know if they were attached by clips, screws, or rivets and if I would have to drill holes in the bumper (which I don not want to do).

No drilling- there are four tabs. On the bottom ones, the clip slides past the steel bumper, and slides between the steel and plastic trim then you pull it back forward, wedging it in place, and the upper ones clip to the backside of the steel bumper. I added one for a front plate- it was like $8.00 at the dealer... That one on eBay will end up costing you more.

What state do you live in Hoot? You are required by law to have both front and rear plates in MA.

KZoo thanks for the info. That is exactly what I was looking for.

Wheel I live in Mississippi and we are not required to have a front license plate. I have a CAT tag that matches my truck. My 2006 F150 is black with the chrome package and a silver pin stripe. The CAT tag is chrome with the CAT logo in black.

Not a stupid question at all. When I ordered the bumper insert for my truck I had to specify whether it had a license plate holder or not since the upper license plate clips need to have cut outs in the insert.

I have been moving back and forth between Alberta and Saskatchewan. Neither province requires a front plate so I have been having fun putting my old plate on the front. In about a month they will get reversed as I am moving back to Saskatchewan and will swap my Alberta plate to the front. Take a look at my gallery.

My experience is that some dealers order the trucks with the license plate holders and some do not. If you can contact a dealer that orders them with and someone does not want one I'm betting you could easily get one for nothing.
