Exhaust ?

First off, Kwik; I love the sound. When doing a 5" system are yall using a 4" down pipe and then converting to 5 at the lower elbow or do they make a 5" downpipe that will connect to the turbo outlet?

Also I was talking to the local performance truck shop about some 4" bully dogs and he said you had to "bend the firewall" to get the down pipe in. Anyone run into this, it visually looks like it has plenty of clearence for a 4" downer.

that is one reason why you should stay away from that product. i know for sure that MBRP 4" downpipes fit, even with thermal heat wrapping on it, which adds about 1/8" to each side.

yes, everyone uses 4" maximum downpipe, past the transmission crossmember, and then bells out to 5". im not sure one can fit a 5'' pipe in the area above the crossmember and below the cab. however it is for sure that a 5" downpipe will not fit without seriously modding the firewall and a body lift. because of that i have never seen a 5" turbo back system out on the retail market.

any more questions?

Thanks Strokin, I have been looking at the 4" MBRP duals from Pure Diesel. But I sure do like Kwiks sound bites and a cupholder for when you're doing the rear brakes would be nice

Also this "heat wrap" is it just alluminum tape we use on HVAC or is there a specific product you suggest

you are welcome. i would recommend buying from Garrett and PDP. great site, great customer service.

no, the heat wrap is the woven cloth wrap. i got mine from the local Advance auto because that is the closest. watch out, this 2"x50' roll was $45. plus stainless lock ties and you have some money invested. it does not stick on, and it is held at the end with stainless lock ties. it is good to 2000*. a 50' roll with a little overlapping did it perfectly. could not have asked for a better length.
