I just took posession of a 66 f100 that has been in my family for years. It was given to me by my uncle who had recieved it from his father. I initally wasnt to thrilled about it initially because I never have been much of a Ford fan but since it did belong to my grandfather(Mr Willie) and given that my uncle wanted to keep it in the family I took it. Then I saw a picture of one in a classic truck magazine and absolutely fell in love with it. Mine looks no where near as good as the one pictured mine needs a frame off resto, but one day.... My problem is that I dont know much about Fords. It has a 352 and 3 on the tree. I have purchased a 73 to get the disc and power brakes and steering. I want to find a automatic transmission that will fit the 352. I will probally eventually replace the engine but as long as it runs I'll leave well enough alone.Anybody got any ideas.
There are two trannys that will bolt to the FE, the C-O-M FMX, and C6. I have an extra C6 in Central NC, if you are close by wand want to pick it up. My email is below. FYI, The AOD will not bolt up.

In the cool still quiet of night, you can hear chevies rusting away.
Hey thanks for the info!! The c6 shouldnt be too hard to find locally (mississippi) but I appreciate the offer. Some also told me about a cruise-o-matic or something like that, but as I unterstand they are hard to come by. I'd like to do the overdrive but will hold off until the 352 is replaced. If the c6 will bolt up with no complications I'll go that route. One more question. I really hate to sound like an idiot but like I said before I'm not up to speed on Fords. What does "FE" mean?
Ford Edsel, Edsel is a family name. Now if someone comes along trying to tell you it's Ford Engine, don't ya think all of them would be?
