Southwest Arizona, had a couple of case's at work reading 123 yesterday, they are cool coated and ventlated. I burnt my hand picking up a wrench. always wanted a tatoo, just not craftsman!!!
Day before yesterday, my son noticed an outside bank thermometer saying it was 131 while in Parker with his father. Today, at another I saw it said 124 degrees but that is not unusual this time of year. I remember in 1986 it was 128 while going through El Centro coming back from a trip to San Diego.
While living at the mine, 130s was normal but we lived in a rock canyon. So we always baked.
But temps being in the high teens and low 120s down here in our valley is not new. When it's dry, sure it's hot....but at least the nights would be cooler than right now. In either case, it feels very uncomfortable with the high dewpoints/humidity right now.
Kirby works at night in the shop whenever he can, especially if he has any forgework to do. Since he goes to bed so late (early am) and gets about noon. His "day" does not start until very late afternoon to beat as much of the heat as possible.
Just drink plenty of fluids, try to stay comfortable near the swamper and wait til the sun goes down about 4-5 pm to do any real moving around.
I do any yardwork in the early mornings or late afternoons. At least the stores in town have some kind of cooling but the drive to/from can be a "Killer".

Well, the drive up into the mountains did allow us to enjoy a little cooler air. The bad thing was our spot was closed due to the fires on the other side of San Gorgonio.
My wife and I also saw lightning strike a ridge high above Angelus Oaks and another fire got started there! Needles to say, we headed right back down.
It got to about 110 degrees here yesterday. Rare for Chino. Even rarer was the Florida like humidity at 53%. I called my son to wish him a happy birthday (he lives in FL) and he was looking at wwwwunderground.com and noticed our humidity was the same as Jacksonville. Only difference was we were about 20 degrees warmer.
Oh good heavens!!!! I just had a chilling thought. Does this mean Al Gore was correct???? Someone please wake me up before I hear someone say yes!
