Heat Wave!

Good heavens! Is this heat wave ever going to let up? Last year we had two weeks of scorching temps and then a nice mild summer, but this year we are into our second month of broiling heat!

What do you all do to keep from being cooked to death? I haven't ventured outside for two week-ends. I wanna detail my truck and toys.

Well folks, I have had it. I am heading for the mountains for a little picnic and hope I get a monsoonal rainstorm while I am there to cool me down. Gonna let my truck stretch it's legs.

My son has a great T-shirt he picked up in Phoenix .... had 2 skeletons sitting at the base of a cactus with the words "Yeah, but it's a dry heat".

I just left one of our well buildings. 130+ inside. Fortunatly I only had to spend a few minutes there but it wasn't much cooler once I got outside. I'll be glad to get back to Fountain Valley where the temperture is at least bearable.

Thats what I like about Calgary, never gets too hot for long stretches and usually cools down at night.

Drove through the San Fernando Valley today on the 118, temp gauge showed 112 when I left Tujunga, got to 116 before I got to Simi Valley where it 'cooled' to 109. Hottest day yet for 2006 in So Cal.

Not too bad where I live.

Probably a daytime temp of 75º; 67º in the evening.

I can handle it.
