fuel pump problem?
hi. i posted a question a while back about an acceleration problem on my 66 f-100 352. i've checked the things that were suggested; vac advance, timing etc. but these seem fine. i'm wondering if it might be a bad fuel pump. is there any way to test this theory?
ps. when i give gas it does rev up but it wont stay there.

As cheap as they are, just replace it. Usually under $20. Also, check all rubber fuel lines(even under the truck), you may have some that are dryrotted and sucking air.

Good advice about the fuel pump and rubber lines. The line under the cab at the tank is usually rotten and should be replaced. Next I would install a metal shell inline fuel filter just in front of the new pump. Also check for kinks in the fuel line and teflon tape blocking the fuel flow. How about the exhaust system? Is it clear with no restrictions? Post back.
