I am have a problem with the injection pump on my 85 F-250 6.9. It has a new fuel filter, pump and injection pump. I am getting fuel to the injection pump but the fuel well not leave the injection pump. The lines have been flushed and there is fuel in the tank. I have been stumped on this for a week now.
Sounds like you are either not getting power to the fuel shut off solenoid, or it is not working correctly.
As you stand in front of the truck looking at the IP, you see two wires on the top right of the pump.
The front one closest to you is the fuel shut off solenoid, the rear one is cold start timing advance solenoid.
Both should have power when the key is in the ON position and the engine is cold.
If you unplug the front wire while the key is ON, you should hear a faint click as the solenoid closes. Touch the wire to the connector several times and see if you can hear a click each time you make or break contact with the connector.
