had a little starter trouble on my truck. might need new flywheel and starter. someone told me i problably need to use shims on my truck. I told him that i did not know of FORD using shims on their starters and that was mostly a Chevy thing. He swears on it that he onced owned a ford and it had shims on his starter. Did FORD ever use shims on any of their starters? My truck is a 77 ford F250, two wheel. 460 and C6. converted from 400 to 460 if that helps.
i did have a 400 starter on mine. it worked for awhile. i put a 460 starter on and it works fine now. now i need to fix the alternator situation. thanks for the replies.
