How does 260 deg coolant sound?
My 91 F350 7.3L std 4x4 runs beyond stupid hot on the mountain passes and I wondered if others are hitting these temps or have the fan issues I have. Sometimes the fan clutch engages at 210 and yet most of the time it doesn't get interested until I'm over 230. Now when it brings the fan online, HOLY COW does the temp drop fast. I have the super duty cooling option and a dirty great scoop uder the bumper to bring more air to the rad (running a winch infront). My question is should I spend the mega bucks to replace the clutch again with a new one or is this the way they are? A replacement used one acted the same way and it never has boiled over so should I worry? The gauge is Auto Meter and it stove tested dead on to boiling so I believe what I'm seeing.
